The Center on High

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is a complete medical system that originated in China more than 2,500 years ago. It is based on the premise that energy ("Chi" or "Qi") circulates throughout the body along well-defined pathways, or meridians. When the meridians are blocked, the result is pain or illness. Tiny needles inserted along specific points on the body restore health by establishing a balanced circulation of energy. Acupuncture relieves pain and other systems of illness or injury and increase immune system response by balancing energy flow throughout the body. These points have been mapped by the Chinese over a period of two thousand years. Recently, electromagnetic research has confirmed their locations.

Aromatherapy:

Aromatherapy utilizes essential oils to promote health and wellness. Useful in stress relief, personal care, and many other areas. Custom blends can be created as well. The use of essential oils for fragrancing, skin care, hair care, and healing goes back thousands of years.

Belavi is a relaxing & rejuvenating massage oriented to the facial muscles.  Another kind of healthy, beneficial treatment that offers a plethora of benefits for the face, the body and mind.  Improve your appearance and well being with the most luxurious, safe and effective method of treating the problem of sagging, aging skin without surgery.  Our special Belavi technique is supported by the exclusive line of Belavi & Bellanina Botanical skin care products.

Chiropractic:

Chiropractic has been based on the scientific fact that the nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. Chiropractic is the science of locating these areas of spinal malfunction, the art of correcting them, and the philosophy of things natural.

Clinical Hypnotherapy:

Hypnotherapy allows you to use the power of your mind to assist in creating change and wellness, as well as providing deep relaxation. Our thoughts and attitudes are instrumental in our healing. Under this category also falls guided imagery, visualization, meditative techniques, and stress management. Hypnosis allows for a trance-like state where your attention narrows and focuses. This naturally occurring state is used to explore and/or change thoughts, actions, and feelings. Since all Hypnoisis is Self-Hypnosis, it is not something done to you; it is something the Hypnotherapist does with you. The client’s participation is an essential part of the process. A skilled hypnotherapist guides the client into a relaxed state in which suggestions are more readily accepted. The AMA officially approved hypnotherapy in 1958. Diverse applications include stress relief, childbirth, chronic pain control, enhancing memory, improved study skills, various dental applications, improved concentration, smoking cessation, weight loss, and assisting wellness and health recovery through improved attitudes and use of imagery techniques.

Coaching:

Coaching assists in creating the life one desires. Discovering life purpose, setting goals, and accessing inner strength to take the necessary steps to realize dreams are all areas in which coaching is valuable. The Holistic Life Coaches  at the Center bring the additional insights and techniques of holistic/complementary modalities to help create the desired result, including, hypnotherapy, non-directive and guided imagery, kinesiology , reiki, energy balancing, and much more.

EFT . . . What is It?

EFT is a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is like a unique version of acupuncture except you don’t use needles. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body (specifically identified as having higher electrical conductivity than other points), by tapping on them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says ….

“The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.”

And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true…

“Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases.”

This common sense approach draws its power from (1) time-honored Eastern discoveries that have been around for over 5,000 years and (2) Albert Einstein, who told us back in the 1920’s that everything (including our bodies) is composed of energy. These ideas have been largely ignored by Western healing practices and that is why EFT often works where nothing else has.  It’s not that EFT is so stunning (although it may certainly appear that way to you). Rather, it is because conventional healing methods have simply overlooked the obvious.  You will see that clearly as you allow EFT to bring freedom into your life where you thought none was possible.

Reflexology:

Reflexology approaches the body as a whole system, utilizing application of pressure to specific points in the feet, thus stimulating the natural healing abilities of the body. It is based on the scientific principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands which correspond to every gland, organ and system of the body. We have over 7000 nerve endings in the soles of our feet, making them very sensitive and responsive to the sensory input of reflexology

More than simply a "foot massage," reflexology utilizes specific reflex point on the hands and feet that relate to body systems and organs. Reflexology can alleviate stress, increase circulation, and balance the body. Many have found relief from plantar fascists (a.k.a. "heel spurs"), PMS, backache, neck stiffness, and other chronic pain with Reflexology.

Reiki:

Reiki is a non-invasive method of energy healing for deep relaxation and balancing the mind, body and spirit. The most basic level of existence for all things is the level of energy. Reiki works at this subtle level of existence to help harmonize the energy system. Harmony helps to restore the body from any states of dis-ease, as well as to maintain wellness. Experiencing Reiki is the best way to understand the powerful benefits and deep relaxation that Reiki offers.

 Massage:

Massage therapy is the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to normalize those tissues. It consists of a group of manual techniques that include applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, and/or causing movement of or to the body, using primarily the hands but sometimes other areas such as forearms, elbows, or feet. These techniques affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory-lymphatic, nervous, and other systems of the body. The basic philosophy of massage therapy encompasses the concept of vis medicatrix naturae -- that is, aiding the ability of the body to heal itself -- and is aimed at achieving or increasing health and well-being. Massage assists in many areas of everyday living. Stress relief, tension release, increased circulation and relaxation are just a few of its benefits. Massage is a useful part of any wellness or recovery program.

Neuro Linguistic Programming:

NLP models excellence in every field—health, sports, communication, teaching and learning, business and leadership, so that these skills may be taught to others. It models real people, not abstract ideals—what is possible and what has been done. The goal is excellence for all.

NLP has three main elements. The ‘Neuro’ refers to neurology, how mind and body are linked through the nervous system. The ‘Linguistic’ is about how we influence each other and ourselves through language. The ‘Programming’ is about repeated experiences of thought and behavior, how we act to gain our goals, and the consequences of our actions. The focus is on individual choice and ability.

NLP gives us practical methods so we can work on the environmental level by building and maintaining strong relationships. It works on the levels of behavior and capability by forming healthy habits and thinking strategies, allowing us to respond more resourcefully. Thus, we experience less stress and are more in control. It helps us work on the level of beliefs and values by becoming aware of our beliefs and what is important to us. NLP gives specific ways for us to resolve conflicting beliefs and to change old beliefs for ones that support our health and lives more fully. Finally, it works on the identity and spiritual levels by aligning all the others levels.

Personal One on One Yoga Therapy

Explore the Possibility of Wholeness

The practice of yoga therapy is a holistic healing art that focuses on empowering a person to unlock their healing potential and nurturing the ability to reconnect with the inherent knowledge within through presence and awareness. The yoga therapy approach to health and healing is based on the integration of body, mind and spirit. Cultivating this sense of wholeness inside and out is achieved through a process of identifying places in the body that are in a state of tension or imbalance, exploring the root causes of the tension or imbalance and utilizing the art of yoga therapy so healing can take place. The individual will be gently moved into thoughtfully selected postures, instructed on breath awareness and guided visual imagery will be used to invoke deep relaxation. All these techniques are adapted to meet their personal needs in order to create optimal self healing of the body/mind. Yoga therapy offers the unique perspective of understanding that healing starts from within and you have the power to create health and wellbeing. No previous yoga experience required, just an open heart and mind.
